1st Sergeant Asa Castleberry Stephenson
1st Sergeant, Company C, 4th Battalion, Georgia Infantry State Guards:
Asa fought from Lookout Mountain to the Battle of Peachtree Creek. He came down with Typhoid Fever on the last day of the battle at Peachtree Creek. He was out for the remainder of the War. During his service years, Asa acted as the chaplain for the troops. He received the Southern Cross of Honor for his service.
