The Dispatch
Tom Holley, Editor

Our Thomson Guards' newsletter, The Dispatch, is published monthly and distributed by email or regular mail to all members, prospective members, Fifth Brigade and Georgia Division officers and many additional SCV friends.  Since the Thomson Guards meet on the fourth Tuesday, it is sent on or about the tenth day of the month.

It has been said numerous times that communication is the key to success.  If attendance by members to our camp meetings is a fair evaluation, our newsletter is effective.  We currently have 33 members; we average 24-26 members at our meetings.
All members are encouraged to submit articles, announcements and photos so that we can all benefit from our shared experiences.
Contents:
  • Guest speaker and program topic
  • Announcements for Camp 91, as well as state and national SCV news
  • Current event editorial
  • Historic WBTS dates
  • Photos of member award presentations, community events and service projects
  • Website address
  • Officer contact information which is not listed on the website due to privacy concerns.
  • Supplemental issues are published to cover special Fifth Brigade events that warrant special attention.

The Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the following Camp Guidelines are printed in every issue:
As a member of Camp 91, Thomson Guards, please remember that above all things:
  • We are a History, Heritage and Honor Society.
  • We learn our history, we protect our heritage and we honor our ancestors.
  • We do nothing and we say nothing that bring dishonor to our camp or to our Confederate Heroes.
