BETSY ROSS AND GADSDEN FLAGS:
DOMESTIC VIOLENT TERRORISM SYMBOLS?
On August 4, 2022, the Ohio Press Network’s newsletter ‘Just the News’ published an article titled
‘THE FBI LISTS ASHLI BABBITT, THE SECOND AMENDMENT AND THE BETSY ROSS FLAG
AS TERROR SYMBOLS IN ITS GUIDE.’
Madeleine Hubbard reported in her story: “A leaked internal FBI guide about violent extremism lists the Second Amendment, the ‘Betsy Ross flag’ and Jan. 6 protester Ashli Babbitt as ‘Domestic Violent Terrorism Symbols’ used by militant extremist groups in the United States. The guide, provided by an FBI whistleblower to the investigative media organization Project Veritas, says the symbols are ‘used by Anti-Government or Anti-Authority Violent Extremists.’ The guide says militant violent extremists, also known as MVEs, ‘justify their existence with the Second Amendment, due to the mention of a 'well regulated Militia' as well as the right to bear arms.’ Historical imagery listed on the terrorist guide also includes the Gadsden flag, which contains a snake and the phrase ‘Don't tread on me,’ the Liberty Tree and other general ‘Revolutionary War Imagery.’ The FBI says MVEs consider people such as Ashli Babbitt, who was killed by a U.S. Capitol police officer during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, and Vicki Weaver, who was killed during the Ruby Ridge standoff, to be martyrs.”
That story is a sad, sad commentary about the dismal, dark path our nation has tumbled down over the last six years. The demonic takeover of our government and news media by the Left has so disheartened me that I wonder if it’s worth the trouble to try to take them back. The saddest thing to me is that half the people in our country support, defend and vote for the Leftists. An old, deceased Senator from Georgia once said, “Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people.”
What I find funny in all this is documented on the official website of the FBI. Under the section called ‘FLAGS AND BANNERS AT FBI HEADQUARTERS’ you can read:
“Since the dedication of our Headquarters building in 1975, we have been proud to be part of Pennsylvania Avenue, ‘the nation's ceremonial route,’ and to help illustrate the development of the Stars and Stripes since 1775. Ten historic flags are flanked on either side by today's 50-star flag, all of which represent the 50 states of the Union. The historic flags include the Betsy Ross Flag, 13 stars, designed by George Washington, Betsy Ross, and Francis Hopkinson. Although rarely used, it was adopted by Congress on June 14, 1777—the official date of today's Flag Day.”
Someone needs to inform the FBI that they are displaying a "Domestic Violent Terrorism Symbol" in public view at their headquarters. It’s worrisome because some of us may get the wrong idea and think they themselves are domestic terrorists to be feared. But the most dangerous terrorist group of all time in the minds of the FBI and the Left are the Sons of Confederate Veterans and other Southerners who fly their flags with pride and honor on many occasions, most times quite appropriately.
I’m sure they believe what Javonte Anderson wrote on January 7, 2021 in USA Today in ‘CAPITOL RIOT IMAGES SHOWING CONFEDERATE FLAG A REMINDER OF COUNTRY'S DARKEST PAST’:
“The nation watched in horror as a mob stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday afternoon, swarming police officers and vandalizing a federal building. Amid the chaos and sea of American flags and flags for President Donald Trump appeared an emblem that has long been associated with white supremacy – the Confederate battle flag. Having that emblem hoisted inside the Capitol during a riot that sought to undermine the democratic process reinforced many people's belief that the Confederate flag and those that brandish it like a firearm are committed only to an American democracy that prioritizes white supremacy.”
